THE DESIGN:
COLDSTREAM GUARDS COMPANY BUNTING FLOOR MAT/DOOR MAT:
11 Coy Bunting (was used for HQ 4 Coy 2nd Bn Coldm Gds, 1962 to 1993)

Before you read on, we are not suggesting for one minute that these mats should be purchased with the only intention of dragging your feet all over them.  These mats would be ideally placed in a location where they stand out, and are noticed (but also function as a mat).  Many historical buildings and locations have decorated floors that are 'walked' on, this isn't a sign of disrespect, but merely decoration.
Please see below (and the images attached) for the size and mat options (2 sizes and 2 types of mat)

Company Buntings/Colours Useful Information:

  • Company Colours move around by designation as History moves forward, this can lead to some confusion for Veterans who think a Bunting was used for another Company/Regiment ......... this COULD be the case!  For example, the current Company Colour for No 7 Company, was used prior to 1993 by No 1 Company of the 2nd Battalion.  It was passed to 7 Coy when the 2nd Bn was placed in Suspended Animation.  Likewise, for example, the 8 Company Bunting was used for Number 2 (SP) Company 2nd Bn from 1962 to 1993.
  • The Company Colours derive from the colours carried prior to the permanent establishment of battalions in 1751.
  • The Buntings are used to mark the location of the Company Headquarters in barracks or in the field in both peace and war.
  • The Silks/Company Colours, in the Field, are used as marking points on ceremonial parades.
  • Each Company Colour is based on the Union Flag and bears the company badge in the centre.
  • Sixteen badges were granted initially, followed by a further eight in 1897 on the formation of the Third battalion.
  • With the formation of the 4th and 5th Battalions during the World Wars, badges were allocated to them without any apparent sequence.
  • The guide below will show you when each Company Colour was used:
  • ALSO AVAILABLE for Company Buntings, Mugs, Wallets, Cushions, Towels.
